Killbear

Not what we want to do, but the name of the Provincial Park where we are spending tonight. Just returned to the van after biking a trail (better suited to mountain bikes) to get to a hiking trail leading to lighthouse point. The water is clear and boats are moored in several bays.
Our campsite (site 24) had a water view through the windshield. Killbear is the first place we’ve had to sign a pledge to keep a “bear safe” site.
Windsurfers we’re loving the flat water in these bays with 15-29 knot breezes.
Before here, we stopped in Sturgeon Bay, but the campsites were a little bit muddy, so we moved on.
The drive here was beautiful winding in and out of bays and between low granite mountains. My favorite view was from 10 Mile Point, one of our last stops on Manitoulin Island.
One more turnout was for “High Falls” where we followed the signs to a waterfall where we had all to ourselves.
We stopped on the outskirts of Sudbury for fuel and again for wild blueberries after seeing several people selling them by the roadside. The gentleman said they were picked three hours beforehand. Small and sweet, they taste the way wild blueberries should.
Pulling over for lunch on a side road, we discovered liquid running across the floor.  The bag of scallops thawing in the refrigerator had sprung a leak. Glad we found it before it got any worse. Let’s hope the bears don’t smell them and come knocking tonight!
Here are a few more views in Killbear Provincial Park. We should come back here with our sailing kayak.
P.S. We saw no bears
