Chesapeake City to Safeway

You know you are a cruiser if….  you choose
destinations by their proximity to grocery stores.  We motored 45 miles today
and anchored near the Safeway in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood. We heard on
the radio that there will be special events this weekend celebrating the
anniversary of the battle of Fort McHenry, so we are go to stay for a few days
and enjoy the festivities.  The bay was calm today and we were in the
company of “Penn #4” tug and barge all the way here. The tachometer has started
acting up, along with the alternator, which are definitely inter-related.
Nothing to stop us, but will give the technicians at Gratitude something to
check out in our 50 hour check up. We’re half-way there with just over 25 hours
on the new engine.  There are six boats anchored out here surrounded by
over a thousand boats in marinas. We enjoy watching the boat traffic. A fleet of
small sailboats passed by with spinnakers flying just as the sun was setting.
The sun then grew into a huge ball and set behind a couple of trawlers, which
is today’s picture. The moon rose shortly afterward and was almost as big.
