There is so much to do here, that we decided to stay
another day. Noah & Beth went back to the Science Museum because Noah
enjoyed making robots so much. Meanwhile, I toured the historic ships
docked here in the inner harbor. The USS Constellation from the civil war, the
Tursk (shown here) was the last submarine to sink a ship in WWII, the
Chesapeake Lightship and a Coast Guard cutter that was in Honolulu during the
attack on Pearl Harbor. It still amazes me how men handled life in old sailing
ships and endured the very close quarters aboard older submarines. We
enjoyed a concert by the wharf with a pair of guys from Bolivia playing guitar
and wooden pan pipes before heading back to the boat to catch up on some sleep.

After only taking catnaps through Ernesto, we slept
well until about 0300 when a group of intoxicated folks on the shore started
being a little loud. The police ended up coming and dispersing the 40 or so people
milling around., but we took that as our signal to leave.

Sunday morning we drove the dinghy over to Canton
where there is a Safeway right across the street from a public dock. This
was a great spot for shopping, so we are provisioned for at least another week.
Shopping took about two hours, so it was 1300 by the time we cast off the lines
and headed out. We chose the nearby destination of Rock Creek, not to be confused
with Rock Hall) to anchor for the night.
