Almost Maine

Skat at Cedar Creek
We awoke to a white world on Sunday morning as cool
temperatures mixed with warm water caused Maine-like fog, an unusual condition
in North Carolina. We anchored out with two other boats from Matthews Point,
Skat and Luna Sea. Noah spent two nights with Jim, Barb & Missy the dog on
Skat, giving him a nice break from his parents. The weekend was most enjoyable
as we were able to share meals, socialize and get a few boat projects done.
Earl & Jim spent much of the weekend helping to
troubleshoot the radio on Intuition. Although it is working with email, the
voice transmissions are “iffy” at best. By substituting similar components it
was determined, unfortunately, that both the radio and the radio tuner are not
functioning as they should be. Jim & Earl also worked on tuning the
standing rigging to make the roller furler easier to pull. Many thanks for both
of your help.
Wayne & Janet of Wind Drift made a special trip
from Washington, NC to bring Noah a book and visit for a few minutes.

On Sunday afternoon, we headed in to New Bern for the
very end of the Mum Fest and to help friends in the Coastal Carolina Garden
Railway Club tear down their display layout. Noah was a great help, picking up
all the rocks and then taking wagon loads of miniature buildings and plants to
the van. The Allen’s loaned us their car so we could go grocery shopping and
make a Lowes run on the way back to the marina.
