Birdbath Beauties

18 April 2024 — Thursday

When we aren’t traveling, we enjoy watching local wildlife in our backyard. We have a good view of a bird bath from our dining spot. It may be time to get on the road again as we’ve been making up dialogue from the bird interactions as dinnertime entertainment.

Here’s last nights story…

A male Cardinal was enjoying the bath

and ignoring one of his fans

His wife was looking down on the scene from a perch of dried leaves.

Dropping down to the bath she says, “It’s my turn.”

“Really, get out of the bird bath.”

She finally had her chance to settle in.

“Ahh, that’s better.”

“Oh no, company and my feathers are a mess.”

We close with a Bluebird wondering what that was he just saw in the birdbath.

Notes:Photos are captured with a Nikon 750 and a Nikkor 200-500 f5.6 zoom through our kitchen window.
We love the birdbath carved from stone by a local gentleman. He was excited when we bought it as he said he has so many carvings that his wife doesn’t let him start another carving project until he sells one. Here’s a link to his website: Simchock Stone
