Gordon Turner Park on Lake Huron
This park offers great views of passing ships, including this big Coast Guard Buoy Tender.

We C

Two boys enjoyed the cool lake waters by the Cheboygan Crib Lighthouse. The light was first illuminated in 1884.

Storm Clouds were gathering over Lake Huron as we left the park.

Brimley State Park – Site 201
Looks like just a spot beside the road, but…

there was only a very short path and a few trees between us and Lake Superior.

That path gave us great beach access.

The park has new, modern, bath houses.

There are 237 campsites in the park; those on the northernmost side have direct access to Lake Superior.

There was also a well maintained boat ramp behind this indoor picnic shelter with a fireplace.  I can picture warming up in here after ice fishing on the big lake.

Watching freighters transit Whitefish Bay on the way to the Sault Saint Marie locks from “our” beach was a delightful way to wind down the day.
