Conesus Lake

Lunch Stop Along the Susquehanna River
We left for NY at 9:15 AM and enjoyed nice views along the Susquehanna river as we drove north towards Rochester. This route up 15 is a pleasant alternative to expressways. There were lots of places to pull off along the river and stretch our legs. Even with a few stops,  we arrived early, so took some time to show Beth & Noah the areas of downtown Rochester near my old haunts at Kodak Office.  They were impressed by the high falls of the Genesee River.

High Falls of the Genesee River in Rochester
From Rochester we backtracked to our campground at Conesus Lake where we met up with co-workers from Kodak days. Jim Peterson & Cyndi Warren surprised us by picking us up in Jim’s pontoon boat for a fun dinner at a beach restaurant and treating us to a sunset tour of this very pretty finger lake. Thank you Petersons & Warrens!

Docks at Conesus Lake Campground

The campground put us on a spot near the office so we could easily walk back from the dock after dark. There are prettier campsites, but they involve a walk up a steep hill and we are going to be heading out early tomorrow.
