Awoke at “goose o’clock” when the geese decided it was time to have a pre-flight conversation.
We drove around the eastern side of the island visiting viewpoints we had missed yesterday. There really aren’t any bad choices here!
The Cup and Saucer trail was a fun hike. The western end of the Niagara Escarpment extends onto the island where this trail climbs about 1,000 feet from the base to the top.
A few ladders and a rope help in the ascent.

Sandfield town park offered flowers and a pedestrian bridge over a clear rocky brook at the outlet to the lake.
Planning our next destination we had to choose between a ferry to Bayfield or driving around the Lake Huron shoreline. Looking at the weather forecast of rain and twenty knot winds, we elected for the shoreline drive.
That decision didn’t preclude us from visiting the ferry landing. With openings in the bow and stern, the ferry unloading process was fascinating. Two layers of vehicles are carried in the hold with pneumatic ramps dropping down to let cars exit.
