Earl Quick helped us change the dinghy and ladder so it was easier to retrieve. Also mounted the LCD panel so we can see the computer screen in the cockpit. This allows us to see where we are on an electronic chart and it repeats all the instrument information. Earl, Craig, Jim & Barb all came out via dinghy to bid us a pleasant journey. That’s Earl in the photo testing our new dinghy.
Noah ran into his old marina friend Thomas and new friend Takeshi from Kansas City. They caught lizards, released crabs and then all went for a dinghy ride.
Motored out the Neuse and into the Pamlico Sound, then turned North on the ICW. Temps climbed into the high nineties again and we were attacked by green flies. Noah and Beth retreated below after a valiant effort by Noah to eradicate them all with a sock. The wind picked up by early evening and the flies left for better shelter. Anchored close to the middle of nowhere in Eastham Creek. Sure felt good to shower off using the solar shower on deck after dinner. The only other boats there were crab fisherman early in the morning and this is a holiday weekend. Great spot for star gazing.
