Launching

Noah had a day of tests today in home school. When
they were completed, we inflated the new kayak and tried it out. It should be a
fun toy that will give us some exercise and access to shallow areas. We had
been talking about getting one and West Marine had them on Fall close out, so
we took the plunge. It fits into a duffle bag, so should be fun to take in the
car, even after the sailing year is over. We saw a pair of river otters yesterday
chirping at each other near the boat and tried to find where their home might
be this afternoon without success. Will just have to explore more tomorrow.
Beth made another provisioning run with friends that live nearby while I’ve
been stripping teak. She came back with a few more drill bits, so we finished
making new holes in the davits today so they could be secured in the new
position.
