Lee Stocking to Georgetown

It was a good night on the mooring ball at Lee
Stocking until about 0500 when the wind and current combined to drag the
mooring pendant under the boat and the mooring ball started knocking on the
hull.
Doug, a relative of Rob on Milano Myst was visiting
from Vancouver Island, Canada. His wife sent him down here for two weeks to get
the new boat and cruising bugs out of his system. Wrong place to do that!! We
gave him a quick tour of Intuition since he hadn’t been on an Island Packet
before.
We and Milano Myst were underway by 0917 and back out
Adderly Cut by 0944. It was much calmer leaving than when we came in as the
current was very close to slack. The forecast for NE wind didn’t come to
fruition, so we motored into 13-15 kts of wind for most of the trip. By 1013
Noah was out on the deck feet dunking. When he came back into the cockpit after
30 minutes he was wet from head to toe.
Around noon, Milano Myst broke off to head in towards
Emerald Bay Resort. Their plan was to chill beers and pop popcorn before the
Super Bowl started. They plan to join us in Georgetown later in the week.
All along the way their have been big billowing clouds
building over the islands just from the humidity combined with the convection
over land. Very pretty day watching the waves crashing against the islands as
we head southeast. By 1338 we were at Conch Cut and turned for Elizabeth
Harbor. A tower marks the turn and we saw our first navigational buoy since
entering the Bahamas. As we came into the harbor, the masts of the cruising
fleet came into view. The boat count is somewhere in the mid-200’s. Passed Gypsy
Soul from home anchored off Monument Beach. We were a bit overwhelmed by the
number of boats after enjoying uncrowded anchorages for the last week.
Continued motoring in and dropped the hook near Sand Dollar Beach close to Sol
Y Mar and Sweet Sensation in 17 feet of water. It looks like a good spot to be
for the coming NE blow.

The crew of Sweet Sensation welcomed us and gave us
the Georgetown briefing. The hailing channel here is 68. Commercial traffic
uses 16. The cruisers net starts at 0800 and the kids channel is 79. They asked
if we had any luck fishing on the way down, sharing that they had no luck
either. We may both attend a fishing seminar tomorrow morning on the beach.
