Maine & Boothbay Gardens

After a relaxing night camping in Randy and Linda’s beautiful yard, we started the day out at D&H Motors where Randy and his father were busy explaining the features of new Lincoln Motor Cars to customers. Noah opted to spend the day there optimizing the wireless network and catching up on his reading.

Linda drove Beth and I to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. Perfect weather and beautiful gardens made it a place we recommend to anyone. Beth and Linda took lots of photos while I enjoyed the kinetic sculptures scattered throughout the park. All were stainless steel and moved to reflect light in all sorts of interesting  ways. An evergreen arch marked the entrance to a section of the gardens planted with fragrant and textured plants for sight impaired visitors. Both of the women are good photographers and captured lots of interesting detail in flowers, bees, and even a couple of frogs.

Kinetic Sculptures

Thursday night we met Uncle Ernie & Aunt Eunice for dinner (Friendly’s clam rolls) and then went back to their house. This was the first time we’d seen either Ernie & Eunice or Randy & Linda’s “new” homes, which are now over twenty years old! Guess we better get to Maine more often. All of them enjoy spoiling the dog. Ernie gave Noah some pointers playing a round of pool in the nicely finished basement.

There was plenty of room for the van at Randy & Linda’s. If they made one garage door taller, we could have parked inside!
