Changing the engine air filter is an easy job that most anyone with basic mechanical skills can complete.
This was one of the items on our upcoming 60,000 mile service list. The dealer would charge $57 plus other fees and tax to change the filter.
Searching YouTube we found a great two minute video that was really well done. Here’s the link:

That may be all you need to do the job. The remainder of this post is some photos we captured to show the process on our particular van.
Loosen the two hose clamps circled in yellow with an 8mm socket or a flathead screwdriver.
Gently pull the hose up off the air filter compartment, then gently pull it off the firewall side.
Loosen these 4 screws. They don’t need to come all the way out, as they are captive.
Remove the cylinder cover to reveal the air filter.
Remove the old air filter and place the new filter in the cylinder.
Reassembly
Note the two tabs on the cover.
Align the cover so the two tabs straddle this bolt.
With the cover aligned, tighten the four screws, alternating between them to insure an even seal.
Reinstall the hose, insuring that the tab circled here fits between the two raised lines.
Now tighten the two hose clamps.
That’s all there is to it.
Here’s a photo of our engine compartment after completing the job.

For even more savings, change your own cabin air filter. That is $180.99 plus fees and taxes at the dealer. Here’s a link to that process: Lexor Cabin Air Filter Change
