Labor Day Weekend 2019
Northern Michigan was a perfect setting for a relaxing visit with Lucy, one of our favorite canines. Driveway camping with Beth’s sister and brother-in-law was a wonderful respite from holiday crowds.
Quiet was only interrupted by the haunting call of Loons raising a chick.
Captain Gary treated us to sunset cruises every evening.
Lucy qualifies for the “most mellow dog” award, but still keeps her nose engaged at all times.
Water levels were the highest we had seen in years.
Beth and Judy worked the helm on a side trip to the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena. I apologize for knot getting a better picture of Judy. It is a fun and free museum great for kids and adults too.
Back at the lake, one of the residents livens the area with beautiful carvings of birds and forest animals. In addition to totems and bird houses, each panel of his fence has a unique bird painting.
Judy captured a rare photo of Beth and I together out on the lake.
Back on shore we toasted another pretty sunset and the end of another fun visit.
