We’re on our way to Maine, just not by boat.

Rented a car in Plattsburgh, NY this morning, took a ferry across Lake Champlain, and headed across the top of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to get to Ellsworth, Maine. Mark’s Aunt and Uncle have loaned us a condo!

The Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream factory was only a little off our path, so we “had” to stop and take the tour. Even though they have been purchased by Unilever (the same year that Unilever purchased Slim-Fast) they still make ice cream from local Vermont cows with all natural ingredients.

Route 2 is a winding road across the northern New England states that has great views of the Green, and White, Mountains along with picturesque small towns.

We’re just a little North of Acadia National Park and looking forward to exploring the Maine coast.
