09 August 2025 – Saturday

Based on a post that we were in Maine, we were surprised and happy to get a message from fellow Lexor owners inviting us to get together.

We picked up some Thai food and headed to the coast to enjoy a picnic on Mike and Alison’s dock.

They have a little slice of paradise with just enough room to park their Lexor. It’s a sister to ours, as they were built within a year of each other.

After dinner discussing camping and gardening the Saylors asked if we wanted to go for a boat ride. What an unexpected treat! We’re still recovering sailors, so love any excuse to get back out on the water.

Mike and Alison are new to boating but are catching on quickly. They were smart and hired a captain to take them out on their new (to them) vessel for hands-on instruction.

The best views of old homes are from the water side.

Maine waters aren’t terribly forgiving. Rocks and currents require paying close attention to your position on nautical charts. Add in hundreds of lobster pot buoys and navigating can be challenging.

As the sun sank toward the horizon, the shoreline was illuminated in a warm summer glow.

This red sea buoy would be marked as OBS (OSP) on the coast guard local notice to mariners. It’s the abbreviation for Obscured by Osprey. Check out the size of that nest!

Tying up to their dock just before sunset we had a lovely view. Mike and Alison docked and secured their vessel like professionals!

Seaweed and rocks show the need for a long pier and floating dock designed to handle the tidal range.

We always learn things from other van owners. Mike and Alison have made lots of improvements to their tiny home on wheels.

My favorite is this custom block that hugs the corner of their van galley. It allows them to use a Lagun Table up front in their 2017 Lexor TS. The table works as extra counter space or as a computer desk. Pleasure-Way incorporated a similar set-up in the new 2025 Lexor.

We met several years ago at a Pleasure-Way rally and it was a real treat to see them again.

Thanks for a delightful visit!
